Motorola Droid Gets A Software Update – FRG830 Posted: 01 Dec 2010 08:07 AM PST The Motorola Droid is the bestselling Android handset until date. The phone launched with Android 2.0 on board, and then later was among the first few handsets to get the Android 2.1 and 2.2 update early. Now, Motorola and Verizon are going to release another software update for the Droid. The FRG830 update for the handset updates many of the applications and widgets and also fixes some bugs. The update also brings with it support for Microsoft 2010 Exchange and a 'new Gmail user interface' which sounds pretty interesting. Here is the full change-log from Verizon –: o Updated Twitter application with new authentication support o Updated Amazon Widget o Updated News & Weather widget o Improvements to Exchange ActiveSync and support for Exchange 2010 connections o Added new Gmail user interface The update is expected to be rolled out to all Droid owners via OTA (Over-The-Air) within the next 24 hours. In all probability, the update will also bump up the Android version of the Droid to 2.2.1. Dell Venue Pro Priced at $150; Ships on December 14 Posted: 01 Dec 2010 06:29 AM PST Almost all the devices announced at the Windows Phone 7 launch have been released, with the exception of the Dell Venue Pro. When it was first announced, the Venue Pro was captured a lot of attention, thanks to its vertical QWERTY slider design, gorgeous display and great hardware specs. However, some things are just not meant to be true. There were no further announcements by either Dell or Microsoft, about the release details of the Venue Pro. Surprisingly, it made an appearance on Dell’s website yesterday before it was taken down. It will be priced at $500 without a contract and at $150 witha 2 year T-Mobile contract. The preliminary shipping date is said to be December 14, so you should probably get it before Christmas if you order it now. via PocketNow Share: Comment on This Post | Tweet This | Share on Facebook | Save to Delicious | Stumble This | Digg This | Reddit This TAGS: Dell, Microsoft, venue pro, Windows Phone 7 Dell Venue Pro Priced at $150; Ships on December 14 originally appeared on Techie Buzz written by Pathik Shah on Wednesday 1st December 2010 09:29:58 AM under Mobile News. Angry Birds Seasons (Christmas Edition) for Android Released Posted: 01 Dec 2010 05:48 AM PST We had earlier confirmed that the special Christmas Edition of Angry Birds will indeed be available on Android (along with the iPad and iPhone versions). We had expected Rovio to release the game on the Angry Birds Day (Dec 11). However, they have done better than that, and Angry Birds Seasons is now available in the Android Market. Angry Birds Seasons includes 25 special Christmas themed levels to kill time as you wait for Christmas. A new level will be unlocked every day, until Christmas. As a surprise gift, Rovio has also tucked in the Halloween themed levels that Android users had missed out on. As mentioned earlier, Angry Birds Christmas edition is also planned for the iPad and the iPhone. The App Store’s verification process is the most likely culprit for the delay in the release of the iOS version. Rovio has also reaffirmed that they will be releasing a light-weight version for lesser Android phones and an ad-free version. Angry Birds Seasons for Android is also a free download. You can grab it directly from the Market or through AppBrain. Motorola Olympus Spotted Yet Again Posted: 01 Dec 2010 05:46 AM PST The Motorola Olympus has been spotted yet again. It resembles the Motorola Defy and was apparently bought at a flea market by a tipster. It is powered by the Nvidia Tegra 2 platform and sports a 4 inch display. It will run Android 2.2 Froyo and also comes with an HDMI port. The camera, presumably an 8 MP shooter, will shoot 1080p HD video. The Olympus will come with the MotoBLUR UI. It should be launched around January 2011. via Gizmodo Share: Comment on This Post | Tweet This | Share on Facebook | Save to Delicious | Stumble This | Digg This | Reddit This Motorola Olympus Spotted Yet Again originally appeared on Techie Buzz written by Pathik Shah on Wednesday 1st December 2010 08:46:22 AM under Mobile News. Sony Playstation Phone Spotted in Greece as the Sony Ericsson Z1 Posted: 01 Dec 2010 05:16 AM PST The much awaited Sony Playstation phone has finally been spotted for real. The sighting happened somewhere in Greece, with someone shooting a spy video of the Sony Ericsson Z1 (yes, that’s what it will be officially called). We don’t see those awesome sliding controls in this video, but the phone appears to be the real deal. It will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will come with a 4 inch capacitive touchscreen display, with presumably a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It will also sport an 8 MP camera with LED flash. It is likely to be unveiled by Sony Ericsson France on December 9. Keep your fingers crossed, gaming fans, for dreams do come true. via TechBloggr Share: Comment on This Post | Tweet This | Share on Facebook | Save to Delicious | Stumble This | Digg This | Reddit This Sony Playstation Phone Spotted in Greece as the Sony Ericsson Z1 originally appeared on Techie Buzz written by Pathik Shah on Wednesday 1st December 2010 08:16:55 AM under Mobile News.
