Organize your coupons with My Coupon Keeper

Posted: 27 Oct 2010 08:00 AM PDT

I refer to myself as a box girl. I tried a binder but it wasn’t for me. I think I am too lazy. A box has got to be the absolute easiest way to file. You don’t have to sit and try to fit the coupons in the tiny pockets or worry about them flying out when you turn the page (2 issues I had with my binder). So even when I try to change to a different method, I always come back to the box.

I was so thrilled when I heard about My Coupon Keeper. I am always trying to find the perfect box and I hadn’t found the perfect box until now. My Coupon Keeper sent me a box to test out and I am hooked.

The box is so sturdy. I was really surprised as most boxes I find are kind of flimsy. But when I opened the box and the lid hit the table with a bang, I knew it was going to be well made. The latch is really tough too. I threw the box on the ground a few times and it didn’t pop open. Of course my kids looked at me like I was crazy.

The dividers that come with the system are very thick. You are provided with labels if you choose to do the category system (where you organize your coupons by category) or you can write on the tabs which is what I chose to do. I like to organize my coupons in alphabetical order by brand name.

The system also includes 2 insert boxes which are really neat. These boxes fit down inside the box and you can use them for just about anything. I use mine for coupons that I need to organize and file away.

And finally the pocket folder which is perfect for organizing your coupons in the store. Just put the coupons you plan to use on the left side and as you put the items in your cart, move it to the right side for easy access at checkout.

Overall I give this system an A+. I know I won’t be going back to my old box anytime soon.

If you’d like to order your own My Coupon Keeper set, go here. You can get a Free Purse size folder when you purchase the Coupon kit. Just enter “CoupontoDisney” at check-out in the information box!

My Coupon Keeper provided me with a set to review. All words and opinions are my own.

This week’s Publix Penny Item

Posted: 27 Oct 2010 06:30 AM PDT

This week’s penny item is Publix peanut butter.

Every Wednesday (or Thursday depending on when your store’s ad starts), Publix has an item that they sell for 1c with a $10 purchase. (This is not valid at all stores, be sure to check and see if your store does this first. My stores here in Alabama do.) You can find the penny item coupon in today’s newspaper. The $10 purchase is before coupons. ;)

(Thanks Passionate Penny Pincher!)

I just got an email about an awesome All You deal that I just had to share:

My son is selling magazines to benefit his school. They have 29 issues of All You for just $30. That’s just $1.03 an issue.

To get this deal, people need to go to here
Click on magazine deals
Then click on All You and select your subscription
They have until November 2nd to order!

A lot of schools do this fundraiser, but if you don’t know a student this is a great way to get the magazine for a great price!

I have personally ordered my All You magazine through these type of fundraiser before and I have always been 100% satisfied.

Day 27 of No Dining Out October!

Posted: 27 Oct 2010 04:46 AM PDT

Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do!

At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend at a restaurant(s) of their choice!

The rules:

1. You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
2. You must comment on at least 10 days worth of the discussion posts in order to be eligible to win the gift card.
3. The winner will be chosen at random. It won’t matter if you have been 100% successful or not.
4. You are allowed 1 freebie meal that you don’t have to count or report back to us about. Please report on everything else though so we can encourage and support one another!
5. Free meals do not count against you. This is a challenge to spend less money going out to eat than you usually spend. If someone else is paying for the meal or you have a coupon to make it free, great!
6. Here is a thought… consider keeping a tally of what you would of spent this month. For example, if you really want to go out for breakfast this morning and you resist… write that down! You could then donate that money to a food bank or deposit it into your fund!
7. Be sure to check out our list of casserole recipes here and the crock pot recipes here and the under 6 ingredient recipes here.

My progress:

No dining out for us yesterday. A lady from church brought dinner and it was so good!

How are you doing?

Disney Memory: From an orphan to a Princess

Posted: 26 Oct 2010 02:04 PM PDT

Disney’s theme for 2011 is “Let the Memories Begin”. If you would like to feature your memory here on Couponing to Disney, please feel free to email me your story along with a photograph. It does not have to be featured on Disney’s site.

This memory comes from Jessica….

Jessica is adopted from China and this summer had her first trip to Disneyland. Less than three years ago my daughter didn't have a single personal possession. She didn't have a doll, a dress or even a pair of shoes that were hers and hers alone. This summer we were thrilled to be able to take her on her first trip to Disneyland and the Bippity Boppity Boutique. The way cast members treated her brought me to tears. Jessica believes with every fiber of her being that she has a Fairy Godmother. After dressing like a Princess her whole outlook changed. Jessica has a very visible facial defect from her cleft lip and palate…she is keenly aware of people looking at her face – but with her Princess dress on she knew everyone looked at her because she was a Princess. She walked tall, she was proud and she BEAMED every time a cast member called her Princess. Disneyland created a memory and touched her life in a real and tangible way. She went from not owning a pair of shoes to walking in glass slippers, from not having a home, a Mommy or a Daddy to becoming a Princess in Cinderella's castle (where she firmly believes you can actually sleep despite my explaining otherwise). She went from an orphan to a Princess in body, mind and spirit.

A few days ago she asked if we could send a picture into the Disney memories website – we did and it was published. Jess was thrilled beyond words that not only was her picture on the website but also that TWO whole people liked it – she thought that was the most amazing thing ever. Tonight she looked and 130 people liked it…"Mommy, ONE HUNDRED THIRTY…one hundred thirty people like my picture" she was walking on sunshine. The next day she asked if she could go to Disneyland on Christmas day…explaining that it could be her birthday AND her Christmas present being sure I understood "not two presents Mommy, just one, it can be for both things, do you know what I mean?" …well that's not possible, it's a long drive from Montana…BUT seeing her picture on the DISNEY website made up for it…"Mommy, Mommy I'm on Disneyland!!!"

Please take a moment to like Princess Jessica’s memory. It would mean the world to her.

What was the LAST deal you got?

Posted: 26 Oct 2010 01:35 PM PDT

I want to know what your most recent deal was. Think backwards from this moment and let me know!

My mother in law just gave me a loaf of Amish chocolate chip bread. Not sure that counts. ;)

Oh and I spent $30 on 2 coupon booklets to Chickfila on Saturday. Each coupon booklet had 20 coupons for Chickfila and they are good ones too like buy a combo, get a free kids meal (4 of those!) or buy fries and a drink and get a free sandwich. And they don’t expire until 5/31/11. Plus all the proceeds went to the local high school. (Unfortunately they are only good at the local Chickfila.)

Please share yours!
