Arsenic Bacteria Doubted Posted: 08 Dec 2010 09:59 PM PST An article on the NewsWeek website presents several reasons to doubt the recently announced “arsenic bacteria.” It is possible that arsenic is merely “contained” within the bacteria rather than being “incorporated into their biochemistry”.

They have formed by the accumulation of sulfur dioxide from volcanic eruptions.
