Geothermal Heat from a Gold Mine

The town of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, has a proposal to extract geothermal heat from a closed gold mine and use it to heat dozens of downtown buildings. The mine produced 5 million ounces of gold between 1938 and 2003 and is located less than a mile from the buildings it will heat.
