Another Promo For Xperia X10 Android 2.1 Update Released

Posted: 27 Oct 2010 09:55 AM PDT

Sony Ericsson still has not released the Android 2.1 update for the Xperia X10. However, what the company has been doing is posting videos of Android 2.1 running on an X10 and demonstrating the changes which the update will bring. Sony Ericsson has again released another video on their blog which gives users a brief demo of what all changes Android 2.1 will bring to the X10.

The Android 2.1 update includes 5 home screens, 720p video recording with continuous Auto-focus, new lock screen, updated TimeScape and MediaScape and a brand new backup and restore applications. Along with this, the usual Android 2.1 goodies like Live Wallpapers and Google Navigation etcetera will also be present.  The video was not supposed to be released before the update started rolling out, but the video somehow leaked on the Internet. So Sony Ericsson instead decided to publish the video on their blog.

Here is the video I am talking about –:

I guess this is the 'n'th time I am writing this change-log on this blog. Seriously, Sony Ericsson stop publishing all these videos highlighting the Android 2.1 updates and start rolling out the update. When most of the other handsets are already running on Android 2.2, there is really no need to make a huge fuss out of an Android 2.1 update.

PayPal ‘Unofficially’ Announces Android Market Payment Support

Posted: 27 Oct 2010 08:48 AM PDT

One of the most awaited requests of Android users is going to come true soon and I mean real soon. Google is soon going to allow users to purchase applications from the Android market and pay for them using PayPal. As of now, PayPal has not made this piece of news official. Someone however did publish the official announcement on PayPal's blog before pulling it back.

Here is a screenshot of the official blog post before it was pulled back –:

PayPal is the biggest 'internet bank' with over 90million satisfied as well as un-satisfied customers. This move from Google and PayPal will surely help in increasing the sale of paid apps on the Android market and reduce piracy.

Along with this, PayPal has also added support for purchasing applications from the Apple's AppStore and Blackberry App World.
