Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Our immediate world is under snow. Well, large tracts of the the Heads of the Valleys are anyway and, walking with Dylan one morning this week. I found the snow to be the noisiest I've ever known. The temperature was very low - minus 8 according to one pundit I met in the closed off corrie that is Cwmdare. The sun was shining, low but brightly over the ridge that leads to Maerdy in the Rhondda...

Winter eased its grip

Last weekend, winter eased its grip with a slow thaw. Daytime temperatures rose as high as 6 or 7 Celsius on the coast but with rain falling onto frozen ground, some roads and pavements turned into ice rinks. Last night it turned colder again and with clear skies, temperatures fell as low as -9 Celsius inland and much of Wales woke up to hard frosts this morning. This afternoon RAF Valley...
