The New York State Assembly voted 93 to 43 in favor of placing a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing in the drilling for natural gas in the Marcellus Shale. The bill now goes to Governor Patterson.

They include lots of information from the American Red Cross.

Monitoring Rocks Perched in High Places

Geologists are monitoring the movement of large rocks that overlook parts of Billings, Montana. Although the rocks move just millimeters per year, one day they will make a quick descent to much lower locations. Hopefully they will descend without injury or damage.
