Christmas Party: Win a My Coupon Keeper organizing system!

Posted: 06 Dec 2010 01:09 PM PST

I refer to myself as a box girl. I tried a binder but it wasn’t for me. I think I am too lazy. A box has got to be the absolute easiest way to file. You don’t have to sit and try to fit the coupons in the tiny pockets or worry about them flying out when you turn the page (2 issues I had with my binder). So even when I try to change to a different method, I always come back to the box.

I was so thrilled when I heard about My Coupon Keeper. I am always trying to find the perfect box and I hadn’t found the perfect box until now. My Coupon Keeper sent me a box to test out and I am hooked.

The box is so sturdy. I was really surprised as most boxes I find are kind of flimsy. But when I opened the box and the lid hit the table with a bang, I knew it was going to be well made. The latch is really tough too. I threw the box on the ground a few times and it didn’t pop open. Of course my kids looked at me like I was crazy.

The dividers that come with the system are very thick. You are provided with labels if you choose to do the category system (where you organize your coupons by category) or you can write on the tabs which is what I chose to do. I like to organize my coupons in alphabetical order by brand name.

The system also includes 2 insert boxes which are really neat. These boxes fit down inside the box and you can use them for just about anything. I use mine for coupons that I need to organize and file away.

And finally the pocket folder which is perfect for organizing your coupons in the store. Just put the coupons you plan to use on the left side and as you put the items in your cart, move it to the right side for easy access at checkout.

Overall I give this system an A+. I know I won’t be going back to my old box anytime soon.

And guess what! One amazing Couponing to Disney reader is going to win their own My Coupon Keeper system! You will also get $100 worth of coupons to get you started.

My Coupon Keeper provided me with a set to review. All words and opinions are my own.

Your Disney Trip: Disneyland in November 2010!

Posted: 06 Dec 2010 12:53 PM PST

We went to Disneyland Resort over in Anaheim for Thanksgiving. It was not crowded at all on Thanksgiving and Friday was a little crowded. My daughter went to the Bippity Boppity Boutique and had the Rapunzel wig put on. It was so cool everyone stopped her and would take pictures with her. I am waiting to see her posted all our the internet!

We saw the Turkey that was pardoned in 2009 by Obama. I also included the Princess Castle and It’s a Small World all lit up for Christmas.

Thank you for your post on the military discount. We used 2 of the 3 day pass. The 3 days DON’T have to be consecutive AND you get a year to use them. So each day cost $33 a person!

How much money is this?

Posted: 06 Dec 2010 12:45 PM PST

Ok I need to count this pile of change to deposit into the Disney fund. I have been slacking on counting the change so I figured this would be good motivation. It is a mixture of quarters, dimes, nickles and pennies.

How much do you think it is?

The person to guess nearest the correct amount (either over or under) is going to win a Disney ornament that I personally pick out for your family!

Christmas Party: 5 readers will win a month’s worth of menus from 5 Dinners in 1 Hour!

    Posted: 06 Dec 2010 10:25 AM PST

I know that we have all heard of how big of a time and money saver it is to prepare dinners ahead of time. I’ve never done it myself because the planning and meal prep just seems so overwhelming!

That was until I heard about Five Dinners in One Hour. Michelle has create weekly meal plans that help you cook 5 dinners in just ONE hour! She does all the planning, menu’s, grocery lists and cooking directions to get you in and out of the kitchen.  Having dinner ready to heat up every night can really reduce the daily stress of “what’s for dinner?”

All the menu plans have family friendly meals that feed 4-6 people and no, they are not all casseroles. The meals are fresh, not frozen. They keep in your refrigerator until ready to heat and eat. Each week’s worth of menus will cost you about $50-$65 to buy in the stores. However you can use coupons to get that cost much lower!

Five Dinners in One Hour is responsibly priced. For just $15, you get 12 menus (one a week for 12 weeks). That’s just $1.25 a menu. And if you email her first, she will send you a free trial week menu! That way you can test it out for yourself before you commit.

Michelle sent me a menu to try out for myself and my mouth started watering just looking at the recipes! It is so nice to be able to do all the prep work in 1 hour. Talk about fast cooking!

5 Dinners in 1 Hour has generously agreed to give 5 amazing readers a month’s worth of menus!

Christmas Party: 7 readers will win a set of chair locks from Safe to Grow!

    Posted: 06 Dec 2010 08:49 AM PST

If you have kids then you know about the annoying stage they go through where they are constantly messing with the kitchen chairs. From moving the chairs over to the counters so they can climb on them to pushing out from the dinner table when they are suppose to be eating dinner…. It’s enough to drive you crazy not to mention being dangerous!

Safe to GrowSafe has found the solution. SafetoGrow chair locks secure kitchen and dining room chairs to the table. This prevents toddlers from using chairs to climb, which prevents falls, or movement of chairs to reach dangerous objects on tables, countertops, stoves, windows, etc.

SafetoGrow chair locks are very easy to use too. It took my husband just 20 minutes to install it on all 4 chairs at the table. It took just 2 seconds to annoy my son but oh well. I like the peace of mind it gives us. He will NOT stop climbing.

It’s also great because he can fit in his booster chair while the actual chair is still strapped to the table. So no more pushing out the chair when he feels he is finished wiht dinner!

Safe to Grow was kind enough to send me enough chair locks for 7 amazing Couponing to Disney readers!

These games are also great gifts for the pickle ornament tradition. When Santa comes to bring the gifts, he hides the pickle ornament in your tree. The first one to find it on Christmas morning gets a bonus present! A great idea for the gift is a family game that can be shared with everyone.

Want a pickle ornament of your very own? Just leave a comment on this post about how neat you think it sounds and one lucky winner will get one of their very own! I will personally be providing the ornament.

Christmas Party: 2 readers will win 2 boxes of GoGo squeeZ applesauce (perfect for Disney!)

    Posted: 06 Dec 2010 07:36 AM PST

GoGo squeeZ is the first squeezable, re-sealable, no-mess, 100 percent fruit applesauce snack for kids. The tasty and all-natural treat, created by the French company Materne, comes packaged in a handy pouch (initially designed by NASA…) that makes it perfect for an on-the-go snack when you are at the park. All GoGo squeeZ products contain no artificial flavors or preservatives and are gluten-free, dairy-free and kosher-certified.

GoGo squeeZ was kind enough to send me a few boxes so we could take them for a taste test. When you think of squeezable applesauce, you probably think it sounds weird. But it really was no different then using a spoon. And it’s so great to have an easy to pack snack for the kids that is healthy! My kids LOVED it and we have already had to buy a few boxes at the store as well.

Plus when we go to Disney next month, it is going to be a great snack to take with us into the parks. I love that you don’t have to keep it cold and that it is hassle free!

GoGo squeeZ wants to give away some to my readers as well! 2 Amazing Readers will each win 2 boxes!

    Here’s how:

    • Like GoGo SqueeZ on Facebook or go here and scroll down to the bottom right corner and join their newsletter. (mandatory)

The benefits of signing up for my RSS feed + a $25 Amazon.com giftcard giveaway!

    Posted: 06 Dec 2010 06:30 AM PST

    What is RSS?
RSS (which stands for Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Basically I have set up a program called Feedburner and it automatically scans my blog and pulls my feed. That feed is then delivered to you via an RSS subscription. This enables you to read all of my posts without having to visit the blog.

    How do you read RSS?
In order to read the RSS feed, you will have to set up a reader. You can see a list of available readers here.My favorite reader is Google Reader. That is the one that I am going to tell you about.

    What is Google Reader?
Google Reader puts all the posts together in an easy to read list. It’s as easy to read as it is to check your mail.

There are a few ways to read blogs in your reader:

You can read all the posts in order by time or by blog. I have 175 plus blogs in my Google Reader, so I read them by time.

The inside of the Google Reader looks like this:

I read mine in a list format and then click on the title to expand it if it is something I want to read. Other people always leave theirs expanded and it looks like this:

The posts look exactly like the ones here on the blog (links and pictures), except you are reading it in your RSS reader instead of here on the blog.

What I really like about Google is it’s star option. If I see a post that I like and want to read again, I just put a star next to the title of the post and it stores it under starred items on the far left side.

Whenever a blog posts a new post on their blog, it appears in my Google reader within seconds. This helps me to never miss a freebie or coupon. I can’t say enough great things about this service. I’ve used my Google Reader for almost 2 years now.

If you are interested in setting up your own Google reader, I suggest you watch this video here.

So now you know what an RSS feed is and what that little orange icon on all the blogs you frequent means. You can now read all your favorite blogs in one spot!

Go here to sign up for the Couponing to Disney RSS feed!

    ***************************************************************************

And guess what! Reading my blog via RSS feed gets you an extra entry into all of today’s giveaways! Plus just by signing up to read it via RSS, you are entered to win a $25 Amazon.com gift card to buy you (or someone else) a Christmas present!

Just go here to sign up for the RSS feed and leave me a comment letting me know you did. If you already are signed up, leave me a comment letting me know that too. Everyone can win!

I am personally providing the $25 Amazon.com gift card. Amazon is in no way affiliated with this giveaway.

That is all of the day posts. In a pretty list format. You’ll never miss another deal!

Beneath the list are each of my posts from that day. They look something like this:

All of the pictures and links are there. It’s just like reading it here on the blog.

So why should you subscribe? Here are some great reasons:

    • You’ll never miss another post again. Even if you come to the blog every day, you can scan the list to make sure you didn’t miss anything.
    • If you go out of town or you are away from the computer for a few days, each day’s newsletter will be waiting on you in your inbox.
    • If there is a deal you want to do, you can save the newsletter in your inbox and do the deals when it’s convenient for you.
    • If you have a question, just hit reply on the newsletter and type it in. It comes directly to my inbox and I will answer your question just as quickly as possible.

Go here to sign up for my newsletter.

And guess what! Signing up for the newsletter also gets you bonus entries into every single giveaway that I am doing today on Couponing to Disney.

And just for signing up for the newsletter, you are entered to win a $25 Amazon.com gift card that can be used to pay for some Christmas presents for yourself (or someone else).

All you have to do is go here and sign up. You don’t have to comment on this post to enter and if you are already receiving the newsletter, you are automatically entered! Just make sure you confirm it. If you aren’t confirmed, you can’t win.

I am personally providing the $25 Amazon.com gift card. Amazon is in no way affiliated with this giveaway.

Coinstar machines are offering a $10 bonus when you cash in for an eCertificate from a brand you love. You can choose from iTunes, Lowe’s, Borders, Regal Entertainment or Rixty.

    Here’s how this works:

    • Take at least $40 worth of coins to your local Coinstar Machine
    • Select to receive your money as either iTunes, Lowe’s, Borders, Regal Entertainment or Rixty eCertificates. Coin counting is free when you select an eCertificate.
    • The machine will process your coins and give you a receipt with an eCertificate number on it to the merchant of your choice
    • Enter the promo code off your receipt here. It will instruct you on how to redeem your bonus $10 eCertificate. That’s like $10 for free!

If you wait until 12/9 to do this, Amazon will be participating!

You have until 12.31.10 to redeem your certificate!

Day 6 of No Dining Out December

    Posted: 06 Dec 2010 04:45 AM PST

Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do!

At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend however they choose!

    The rules:

    1. You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
    2. You must comment on at least 10 days worth of the discussion posts in order to be eligible to win the gift card.
    3. The winner will be chosen at random. It won’t matter if you have been 100% successful or not.
    4. You are allowed 1 freebie meal that you don’t have to count or report back to us about. Please report on everything else though so we can encourage and support one another!
    5. Free meals do not count against you. This is a challenge to spend less money going out to eat than you usually spend. If someone else is paying for the meal or you have a coupon to make it free, great!
    6. Here is a thought… consider keeping a tally of what you would of spent this month. For example, if you really want to go out for breakfast this morning and you resist… write that down! You could then donate that money to a food bank or deposit it into your fund!
    7. Be sure to check out our list of casserole recipes here and the crock pot recipes here and the under 6 ingredient recipes here.

    My progress:

No dining out for us yesterday.

    How are you doing?
