| Staples Holiday Gift Ideas + Win a $100 Staples Gift Card #wingiveaways Posted: 06 Dec 2010 01:13 PM PST If you are still looking for holiday gifts for your loved ones, Staples has some great gift ideas this year – at all price points. This Omnitech Bling Flash Drive ($14.99) and Mouse ($12.99) would make a fun gift for a coworkers, a friend or even for yourself. ;-) They are available in Staples retail stores. (Earbuds are also available for $9.99) An item on my Christmas list this year is the Amazon Kindle. Did you know that you can buy it at Staples as well? The Kindle ($139), Kindle 3G ($189), and Kindle DX ($379) are all available at Staples locations, and at 10 oz in weight and 1/3″ thick, they can go just about anywhere with you. I love to read, and never thought I would have interest in one of these – until our second child joined the family and thus added more stuff for me to carry/pack. I love the idea of having access to any book that I want to read, any time that I want it. My favorite Christmas gift last year (hands down!) was actually one that I “borrowed” from my husband. There are a lot of places for me to get lost in Columbus (or just in general) and our TomTom Navigation system has saved me more than once in the last year. Staples offers the TomTom XL 340TM and the TomTom XXL 540TM both in stores and at Staples.com, and I think these would make a great gift for anyone – even if they don’t think they are “directionally challenged”. :-) In addition to these gift ideas, Staples offers holiday cards, photo calendars, digital cameras, day planners and so much more. Be sure to hop on over to Staples.com to check out all that they have to offer this holiday season – and don’t forget the batteries! And I am thrilled to announce that I have 1 – $100 gift card to Staples to give away to one of you. What am I giving away?1 winner will receive a $100 Staples Gift Card PLEASE NOTE: This prize is not guaranteed to arrive before Christmas! | Better Homes & Gardens 13 Piece Cookware Giveaway #wingiveaways Posted: 06 Dec 2010 11:05 AM PST Today starts round 2 of the 2010 Win Giveaways Holiday Bash! I am running a little behind today, but am going to attempt to catch up this afternoon! Better Homes and Gardens is now offering several great kitchen products available exclusively at Walmart – including cookware, bakeware, and appliances! I was recently given the opportunity to review the Better Homes and Gardens 13-Piece Hard-Anodized Cookware Set, and I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I love this set! My old set was around 8 years old and had seen better days, so this came at a great time. The Better Homes and Gardens 13 Piece Hard-Anodized Cookware Set includes:
This set is oven safe up to 400°F and has a unique triple performance grid on the bottoms of the pan. I have found my set to be extremely easy to clean – I am not sure if it is because the set is new, or if it is due to the design, but I love it! I have found that my food cooks a little more quickly with this set of cookware versus my other – but that is not a bad thing when you have a hungry 4 year old hanging off of your leg. :-) I love the silicone/stainless steel handle because it is narrow and fits well in my hand – other cookware sets that I have owned have been a bit bulky. Glass lids allow me to peek in at my food to see how it is cooking, and one of my favorite features is the handle on the 10″ skillet – it makes my life so much easier when draining fat off of ground beef! I am also loving the 8″ skillet for when I need to make my oldest a grilled cheese sandwich quickly, and the Dutch oven is a nice addition to my kitchen as I didn’t have one in my previous set. What amazes me the most is the price point on this cookware set. It retails for $149 at Walmart – and is available both online and in stores. I can’t speak to the longevity of the product yet, as I have only been using it for 3 weeks, but I can honestly say this set has exceeded my expectations, and I would have expected it to cost more. If Hard Anodized is not your style, BHG also offers Stainless Steel and Non-Stick Porcelan Enamel Cookware sets at great prices. I am thrilled, because Better Homes & Gardens is going to give one lucky winner their very own Better Homes and Gardens 13 Piece Hard-Anodized Cookware Set – a perfect gift for yourself, or for your favorite cook! What am I giving away?1 winner will receive a Better Homes and Gardens 13 Piece Hard-Anodized Cookware Set PLEASE NOTE: This prize is not guaranteed to arrive before Christmas! How can you win?You can enter up to 4 times: 1) Leave a comment letting me know what BHG Kitchen Collection product you like the best (view them here). | Posted: 06 Dec 2010 06:54 AM PST Here are a few of my favorite national Groupon deals for today. All deals listed below are available to anyone – regardless of where you live, unless otherwise noted. In Boston today you can get $50 worth of steaks and more from Kansas City Steak Company for just $25, shipping included. In New York City you can get $30 worth of treats from The Chocolate Swirl for just $15. Groupon can be used towards shipping. In Oklahoma City you can get $35 worth of wise desserts for just $15 from Fancy Fortune Cookies. In Kansas City you can get $50 worth of merchandise from Marbles: The Brain Store for just $25. In Wichita you can get $50 worth of customizable gifts from Zazzle.com for just $25. Not valid on stamps. In Fort Wayne you can get $20 towards magazine subscriptions at Blue Dolphin for just $10. In Rockford, and many other cities, you can get $30 worth of gifts from the RedEnvelope for just $15. Groupon can be used towards shipping. In Cincinnati you can get $25 worth of FlexFlop Foldable Sandals for just $10 from FlexFlop.com. In Minneapolis/St. Paul you can get $75 worth of wine from Barclay’s Wine for just $25. In Las Vegas you can get a Good Dog’s Delight Gift Basket for just $30 from The Good Dog Food Company. Includes shipping to all 50 states. Here are some good local Groupon deals worth noting. In Columbus get $35 worth of Salon Services for just $17 at Aveda Institute Columbus. In Chicago you can get a year long pass to LEGOLAND Discover Center in Schaumburg for $22. In Washington D.C. you can get $15 worth of burgers, milkshakes and more at Z-Burger for just $7. Judging by the more than 1000 sold I am guessing this is a popular restaurant. View all of these offers and more here. Please note that you can purchase deals in any city. Just be sure to read the fine print to see if the in-store Groupons are limited to a specific store. Online deals tend to be available all over the country – for example, you can buy The Nutty Guys Groupon in any city and use it for yourself because it is for their website. Leave a comment if you have any questions and I’ll do my best to help!
