Staples Holiday Gift Ideas + Win a $100 Staples Gift Card #wingiveaways

If you are still looking for holiday gifts for your loved ones, Staples has some great gift ideas this year – at all price points.

An item on my Christmas list this year is the Amazon Kindle. Did you know that you can buy it at Staples as well? The Kindle ($139), Kindle 3G ($189), and Kindle DX ($379) are all available at Staples locations, and at 10 oz in weight and 1/3″ thick, they can go just about anywhere with you. I love to read, and never thought I would have interest in one of these – until our second child joined the family and thus added more stuff for me to carry/pack. I love the idea of having access to any book that I want to read, any time that I want it.

My favorite Christmas gift last year (hands down!) was actually one that I “borrowed” from my husband. There are a lot of places for me to get lost in Columbus (or just in general) and our TomTom Navigation system has saved me more than once in the last year. Staples offers the TomTom XL 340TM and the TomTom XXL 540TM both in stores and at Staples.com, and I think these would make a great gift for anyone – even if they don’t think they are “directionally challenged”. :-)

Better Homes & Gardens 13 Piece Cookware Giveaway #wingiveaways

Today starts round 2 of the 2010 Win Giveaways Holiday Bash! I am running a little behind today, but am going to attempt to catch up this afternoon!

Better Homes and Gardens is now offering several great kitchen products available exclusively at Walmart – including cookware, bakeware, and appliances!

I was recently given the opportunity to review the Better Homes and Gardens 13-Piece Hard-Anodized Cookware Set, and I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I love this set! My old set was around 8 years old and had seen better days, so this came at a great time.

The Better Homes and Gardens 13 Piece Hard-Anodized Cookware Set includes:

1 covered saucepan with lid 1.5-qt.
1 covered saucepan with lid and steamer insert 2.5-qt.
1 covered Dutch oven with lid 4-qt. (3.8L)
1 covered stock pot with lid 8-qt. (7.5L)
1 skillet 8.5″
1 skillet 10″
1 covered deep skillet with lid 4-qt.

This set is oven safe up to 400°F and has a unique triple performance grid on the bottoms of the pan. I have found my set to be extremely easy to clean – I am not sure if it is because the set is new, or if it is due to the design, but I love it! I have found that my food cooks a little more quickly with this set of cookware versus my other – but that is not a bad thing when you have a hungry 4 year old hanging off of your leg. :-)

I love the silicone/stainless steel handle because it is narrow and fits well in my hand – other cookware sets that I have owned have been a bit bulky. Glass lids allow me to peek in at my food to see how it is cooking, and one of my favorite features is the handle on the 10″ skillet – it makes my life so much easier when draining fat off of ground beef! I am also loving the 8″ skillet for when I need to make my oldest a grilled cheese sandwich quickly, and the Dutch oven is a nice addition to my kitchen as I didn’t have one in my previous set.

What amazes me the most is the price point on this cookware set. It retails for $149 at Walmart – and is available both online and in stores. I can’t speak to the longevity of the product yet, as I have only been using it for 3 weeks, but I can honestly say this set has exceeded my expectations, and I would have expected it to cost more.
