Host a Juicy Juice party with Hosties and get free stuff!

Posted: 03 Dec 2010 11:44 AM PST

There is a new party throwing website called Hosties that is similar to House Party.

HOW IT WORKS:

  1. Create a Facebook event (or sponsor an event you're already throwing)
  2. Apply for the sponsorship
  3. Receive your Hosties Sponsorship Kit
  4. Invite some friends and host a fabulous event
  5. Recap your experience and post photos (remember your digital camera!)
  6. Send a few simple surveys to your guests

By applying for a Hosties sponsorship, you agree to host an event consistent with the description and spirit of the sponsorship, and to share the sponsorship kit with your guests. Events without an adequate description (the "More Info" field) or with fewer than 6 invitees may be excluded.

You agree that you will meet (and hopefully exceed with gusto!) the requirements of a complete event. You must have at least 6 guests RSVP to your Facebook event. After the event you must fill out a brief event recap describing your hosting experience and post 5 or more photos of your event. To make sure your guests have a chance to tell you what a fabulous host you are, you must send at least 5 recap surveys to your attendees.

Right now they are taking applications for a Juicy Juice party: GO HERE TO APPLY.

If selected you will get four coupons for free JUICY JUICE® Sparkling Fruit Juice Beverage along with twenty $1 off coupons and fun gifts for you and your guests!

Day 3 of No Dining Out December

Posted: 03 Dec 2010 04:26 AM PST

Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do!

At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend however they choose!

The rules:

1. You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
2. You must comment on at least 10 days worth of the discussion posts in order to be eligible to win the gift card.
3. The winner will be chosen at random. It won’t matter if you have been 100% successful or not.
4. You are allowed 1 freebie meal that you don’t have to count or report back to us about. Please report on everything else though so we can encourage and support one another!
5. Free meals do not count against you. This is a challenge to spend less money going out to eat than you usually spend. If someone else is paying for the meal or you have a coupon to make it free, great!
6. Here is a thought… consider keeping a tally of what you would of spent this month. For example, if you really want to go out for breakfast this morning and you resist… write that down! You could then donate that money to a food bank or deposit it into your fund!
7. Be sure to check out our list of casserole recipes here and the crock pot recipes here and the under 6 ingredient recipes here.

My progress:

No dining out for us yesterday. :)

How are you doing?

WDW Training: The Lines App

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 06:00 PM PST

iPhones and iPods are very popular and there are tons of Disney apps for them. But which ones should you purchase and which ones can you do without? I am hosting an iPhone series to give you my opinion on each of the Disney apps!

The MAIN reason I got my iPhone was so I could have the Lines App by Touring Plans. I like being able to say “You want to know how long the wait is on Dumbo? I have an app for that!” (It’s 22 minutes right now by the way.)

Lines is an app developed by the geniuses behind TouringPlans.com. It tells you the estimated wait time for EVERY ride/attraction at Disney World as well as the FASTPASS return time and the forecast of when the FASTPASSes will be gone for the day.

They have been researching Disney crowds for over 10 years and their estimations are usually spot on. I used this app constantly during our May 2010 trip and it was always within 1-2 minutes of the posted wait times. I also pull it up at home just to bring some of the magic into my day.

This app is available for most web-enabled smartphones. You will have to have a subscription to Touringplans.com which will run you $10.95 a year.

Visit TouringPlans.com to learn more and download your app today!

Be sure to catch up on the previous training posts here.

Shutterfly: 100s of different Christmas cards to choose from!

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 03:40 PM PST

It’s Christmas Card season and that means many of us are designing our family’s photo card for 2010. If you are like me, you’ve looked at 100s of designs on every website you can think of until you find that one card that is perfect.

Since we are using our Disney picture for our Christmas cards this year, I wanted a bright festive card that really brings the Disney spirit to the card. I was looking around on Shutterfly and check out the above card I made! It is a 5×7 flat card (they have tons of cards to choose from but this one had the best colors for the picture).

If you are interested in making your Christmas Card on Shutterfly, check out all the different designs:

I have every single picture that I have ever taken hosted on Shutterfly. They host your pictures for free and never delete them! I love the peace of mind it gives me knowing that all my pictures are safe online in case something happened to my computer or my house.

Bloggers can get 50 free holiday cards from Shutterfly! More details here.

Upromise: It’s time to load your eCoupons for December!

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 02:13 PM PST

Upromise is a savings program that rewards you with money for college education. BUT you may also cash out the money you have saved in your Upromise account and receive a check you can deposit into your bank account and spend on anything you want (like a Disney trip)! Just submit this form here.

There are so many ways to earn cash in your Upromise account. The main ways I save is by linking my Winn Dixie card, Publix Upromise card, CVS card, Rite Aid Wellness card, debit and credit cards. When I purchase a Upromise participating product (see the list here) or shop at a Upromise participating merchant, I get credit to my account balance. I currently have $49.22 in my account. I’m going to see how fast I can get that number to $100.

One of the quickest and easiest ways to grow your Upromise balance is by using the Upromise e-coupons. Each month Upromise releases about $40 in coupons that you have to load onto your cards at the Upromise website. When you purchase that item with your Winn Dixie, Publix or CVS card, you receive the equivalent balance of the coupon in your Upromise account.

For example, one current e-coupon on Upromise is $1 off Bounty. If I went to Publix and purchased Bounty and had them scan my Publix Upromise card, I would receive $1 added to my Upromise balance. But what makes it even a better deal, I can still use a coupon at the register on the Bounty and still receive the credit on Upromise!

Here is a current list of all the Upromise coupons available. If you think you might buy these items, go ahead and load the coupons now. They will be good all month!
