| Great Homes for Sale in Scenic Crofton, Maryland Posted: 08 Nov 2010 02:00 AM PST Three years ago Crofton, Maryland was included on Money magazine’s list of “100 Best Places to Live.” It is also the birthplace of Johns Hopkins whose legacy includes Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Crofton was once a gated community, and although the gates remain, it is now open to the public. The beautiful Crofton Parkway connects this community that has a Town Hall, Village Green, swim and tennis club, country club and great schools. While Crofton boasts its own amenities, it also about half an hour between DC and Baltimore so you can take advantage of what those cities offer as well. The area is between Route 3, Route 424 & Route 450, and while it isn’t hidden or unknown, it is not flashy either. In fact, life in the “Crofton Triangle” (as it is called because of its outline on a map) provides a small-town feel with big city access. Set up as a special tax district, living in the triangle provides residents with a private police force, maintenance of public areas, and community sponsored events like the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, Easter Egg Hunt, and Halloween Parade to name a few. Do you think Crofton might be just the place for you? Contact top Maryland real estate agent John Day, he’d be happy to tell you more about Crofton homes for sale. |
