Orange UK Offers Xperia X10 Mini Fashion Edition

Orange UK has announced a special edition of its popular low-end smartphone, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini. The special edition is named as “Xperia X10 Mini Fashion Edition” and it comes with free fashion covers available in white and pink. The handset is available exclusively on the airwaves of Orange UK.

This handset is specially targeted for female mobile phone users in the UK. It runs on the Android 1.6 Operating System and it will be updated to the Android 2.1 OS. The features of this handset is exactly similar to the original version. It comes with 2.55 inch touchscreen display, 600MHz processor, 5 megapixel camera and so on.

Xperia 10 Mini Fashion Edition is available for free on a 2 years contract agreement with a monthly plan of at least £20.

LG Optimus One Now Available On Three UK

The Android powered LG Optimus One is now available for Three subscribers in the U.K. This handset is powered by Android 2.2 Operating System, which allows you to access more than 100,000 apps from the Android Market. The Optimus One is capable of playing DivX and Xvid videos.

Slyvia Chind, Head of Branded Devices at Three said "Adding the LG Optimus One to our range of devices continues our commitment to offer customers the best smartphones on the market. Our strong 3G network makes the most of the Google Android operating system and brings to life features such as the portable Wi-Fi hotspot.”

LG Optimus One features a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with 320×480 pixel resolution, 600 MHz processor, Android 2.2 (FroYo) operating system, 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus, 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Compass, GPS and A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, stereo FM radio, LG App Advisor, 1500mAh battery and more.

The LG Optimus One is available for free on the £30 per month The One Plan with 2000 minutes, 5000 texts and 1GB of data. It is also available on PAYG for £174.99. Until the end of 2010, you will also find a free car mount and car charger in the box.

HTC Legend To Get Android 2.2 Update In The ‘Coming Weeks’

When Android 2.2 was released by Google, HTC had promised that most of their phones launched in 2010 will be getting the update. However, after that only the Desire Android 2.2 update was the most talked about. Now since the Desire Android 2.2 update has already been rolled out or is being rolled out in certain regions, the company has moved on to the small brother of the Desire – the Legend.

HTC has confirmed via their Facebook account that they will be rolling out the Android 2.2 update for the Legend in the 'coming weeks'. Owners of unbranded/unlocked Legend will be among the first one to get the update with operator locked owners getting the update once it has been approved by their carrier.

It's nice to see HTC offering Android 2.2 update for the Legend. Being a Legend owner myself, I had almost given up hope of the phone getting the Froyo update.

Dell Offering The New Venue Pro To Employees For Their Blackberrys

All major tech companies like their employees using their own products instead of their competitors’. Google, Microsoft and Samsung have been known to distribute free phones to their employees as perks.

Dell is now offering to replace its employees’ Blackberrys with brand new Dell Venue Pro phones, powered by Windows Phone 7. The Dell Venue Pro directly competes with the Blackberry Torch, so this move is not entirely out of the blue. Approximately 25000 Dell employees will soon be making the switch.

Dell also plans to provide devices like the Dell Streak, powered by Android to its employees. According to Brian Gladden, Dell’s CFO, the move will save them about 25% in mobile communication costs, by eliminating the need to maintain Blackberry servers.

Back in September, the pics of BlackBerry Storm 3 were leaked and now the leaked specs of this handset has been emerged. The current BlackBerry Storm models has a 3.2 inch touchscreen display, but the BlackBerry Storm 3 will sport a 3.7 inch touchscreen display. This handset may have a 5 megapixel or 8 megapixel camera. Check out the leaked specs of this device below.

Nokia C6-01 Starts Shipping

Nokia has started shipping its third Symbian^3 device on the market beginning from today – the Nokia C6-01. The C6-01 is the cheapest Symbian^3 handset from the Finnish giant. The phone sports a 3.2-inch AMOLED screen with the new ClearBlack display (CBD) technology. This new technology from Nokia is apparently capable of rivaling Samsung's Super-AMOLED screen. The phone also features 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS, microSD card slot (expandable up to 32GB) and accelerometer. Nokia_C6-01_1

The back of the phone packs an 8MP snapper with auto-focus and dual-LED flash to assist night photography. The C6-01 is capable of recording videos in 720p resolution as well. The phone is powered by an ARM11 680MHz processor and packs 340MB of internal memory and 256MB of RAM. The phone also has free worldwide navigation through Nokia's very own Ovi Maps.

The C6-01 is one of the greenest and eco-friendliest handset from Nokia as well. The phone has been made from bio plastics and recycled metals. Readers should not confuse the C6-01 with Nokia's C6-00. The latter is a slide-out QWERTY based S60v5 phone.

Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.2 Update Starts Rolling Out In The U.K

After so many delays and 'pull back', the Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.2 update has started rolling out officially from today in the U.K. This piece of news was confirmed by Samsung UK tweet. The Android 2.2 update will continue until the end of November. However, the update won't be an OTA (Over-The-Air) one.

Users who want to update their phone to Android 2.2 need to use the Samsung KIES software to do so. They can download the latest version of KIES from here.

Samsung_Galaxy_S_Froyo

Samsung had earlier released an official Android 2.2 update for the Galaxy S but the firmware was so buggy and slow that they had to pull it back. I have already flashed this new official firmware on my Galaxy S and I must say it's great. The phone is smooth and there are no lags at all.

Hopefully, Samsung will roll out the Android 2.2 firmware update to other countries soon.
