Extra Cash: Get paid for shopping online (great for Christmas time!)

Posted: 22 Nov 2010 11:47 AM PST

There are quite a few programs online that will actually pay you to shop at your favorite merchants through them! You simply log into your account you have set up, search for the merchant and click through the link to begin shopping. Within 30 days, you receive cash in your account for your purchase!

Here are my favorites (I have been paid by all of the ones listed below):

Ebates gives you a $5 bonus for signing up with them. They offer cash back at over 1200 different online merchants. They issue a check every 3 months and you need just $5 to get paid!

Shop at Home also gives you a $5 bonus for signing up. They offer cash back at over 3000 different online merchants. They issue a check each month, but you need at least $20 to get paid.

CashBaq also gives you $5 when you sign up. They offer cash back at over 300o merchants. You need at least $10 to get paid and they pay monthly.

Mr. Rebates also gives you $5 when you sign up. They offer cash back at over 300 merchants. You need at least $10 to get paid and you must request the check.

BigCrumbs also offers cash back at over 12oo merchants including eBay! You need at least $5 to get paid and they pay once a month.

Upromise offers a percent of cash back at tons of online merchants that can be set aside for your child’s education. If you aren’t familiar with the Upromise program, you can learn more here.

Swagbucks gives you Swagbucks that can be exchanged for gift cards, prizes and more. I usually don’t use this when I am shopping online, but sometimes they have merchants that other places do not.

MyPoints also offers you points that can be exchanged for gift cards, prizes and more. I have been a member for over 5 years and I have earned quite a few gift cards.

It doesn’t hurt to join all of the above companies. They both might offer cash back at the same merchant, but sometimes one is higher than the other!

This is one of the many ways you can easily add to your (Disney) fund. Be sure to see all the ways to earn extra cash here.

Day 22 of No Dining Out November

Posted: 22 Nov 2010 05:01 AM PST

Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do!

At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend at a restaurant(s) of their choice!

The rules:

1. You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
2. You must comment on at least 10 days worth of the discussion posts in order to be eligible to win the gift card.
3. The winner will be chosen at random. It won’t matter if you have been 100% successful or not.
4. You are allowed 1 freebie meal that you don’t have to count or report back to us about. Please report on everything else though so we can encourage and support one another!
5. Free meals do not count against you. This is a challenge to spend less money going out to eat than you usually spend. If someone else is paying for the meal or you have a coupon to make it free, great!
6. Here is a thought… consider keeping a tally of what you would of spent this month. For example, if you really want to go out for breakfast this morning and you resist… write that down! You could then donate that money to a food bank or deposit it into your fund!
7. Be sure to check out our list of casserole recipes here and the crock pot recipes here and the under 6 ingredient recipes here.

My progress:

No dining out for us yesterday. We had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner at church last night. yum!

How are you doing?
