Reminder: Sign up for the Couponing to Disney Christmas Card Exchange!

Posted: 18 Nov 2010 10:00 AM PST

I absolutely love getting Christmas Cards. For the past 5 years I have participated in Christmas Card exchanges online with various message boards I frequented. But this year I decided that I would host a Christmas Card Exchange here on Couponing to Disney!

Here’s how it works:

1. You will be in a group of 20 various Couponing to Disney readers (myself included).

2. Sometime during the Holiday season, you will need to mail 19 cards to the people on the list. You will receive 19 cards in return!

Here’s how to sign up:

1. Email me your name and address before November 24th. Make sure you put “Christmas Card Exchange” in the subject line. (my email is CouponingtoDisney @gmail.com)

2. I will email you the list of people in your group by Sunday, November 28th.

I am so excited!

Giveaway: Help a child in need and win a Tupperware Kid’s Cake Taker Set

Posted: 18 Nov 2010 08:00 AM PST

My friend Alecia from Savings & Stewardship has a great way for you to give and get this season!  Her niece suffers from a very rare and very severe food allergy related disorder called FPIES and they are hosting a Tupperware party to help raise funds for research of the disorder!  You can help by visiting Alecia’s post HERE and purchasing Tupperware through her link or by making a donation directly to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to the FPIES research fund (Alecia also has that link in her post).

She is also offering a giveaway of the cute Tupperware Kid’s Cake Taker Set to help spread the word and attract more attention.  It would mean so much to Alecia if you would visit her post and consider making a contribution.

Day 18 of No Dining Out November

Posted: 18 Nov 2010 04:57 AM PST

Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do!

At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend at a restaurant(s) of their choice!

The rules:

1. You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
2. You must comment on at least 10 days worth of the discussion posts in order to be eligible to win the gift card.
3. The winner will be chosen at random. It won’t matter if you have been 100% successful or not.
4. You are allowed 1 freebie meal that you don’t have to count or report back to us about. Please report on everything else though so we can encourage and support one another!
5. Free meals do not count against you. This is a challenge to spend less money going out to eat than you usually spend. If someone else is paying for the meal or you have a coupon to make it free, great!
6. Here is a thought… consider keeping a tally of what you would of spent this month. For example, if you really want to go out for breakfast this morning and you resist… write that down! You could then donate that money to a food bank or deposit it into your fund!
7. Be sure to check out our list of casserole recipes here and the crock pot recipes here and the under 6 ingredient recipes here.

My progress:

My nephew’s birthday was last night so we took him to Chickfila. I fed 4 adults and 2 kids for $22 after my coupons.

How are you doing?

Neilsen homescan accepting applications again!

Posted: 17 Nov 2010 02:28 PM PST

Nielsen (you know the people that track the TV ratings) has a program that tracks your shopping purchases called The Home Scan Panel.

Here’s how it works: Sign up here if you have a landline and here if you only have a cell phone and upon approval they send you a scanner. You scan all the purchases you bring into your house, groceries, healthy and beauty, clothes, etc. (This is a fun thing to let the kids do!) Once a week, you hook the scanner up to your computer (or you can elect to get the scanner that submits it’s data over a landline) and in about a minute it transmits the data back to Nielsen.

You earn points for each weekly submission (150 points but it goes up the longer you’ve been a member) and then you also complete a short survey on each store you shopped at that week (100 points per store).

The points can be exchanged for a variety of prizes such as a Step 2 Easel for 34,000 pts  or Dooney & Bourke® Small Tulip Tassel Tote for 95,000 points (awesome!). They have over 250 prizes to choose from.

I applied for Neilsen in the past and I was sent $5 in the mail back in June just to complete a written survey. So it’s definitely worth applying for!

Santa Paws: Save $10 off the Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack + 2 rebates that will make the movie FREE!

Posted: 17 Nov 2010 01:27 PM PST

Disney Movie Rewards has just released a coupon for $10 off Santa Paws Blu-ray/DVD combo pack.  This movie will be released on November 23rd.

There is also a $10 rebate available when you buy any Butterball Fresh or Frozen Whole Turkey and either Santa Paws or A Christmas Carol on DVD or Blu-Ray/DVD Combo.

Plus there is an additional rebate for $5 back when you buy 2 Kernal Seasons products and either Santa Paws or A Christmas Carol on DVD or Blu-Ray/DVD Combo.

Plus the Kernal Seasons rebate allows for photocopies of the receipt and only requires 1 of the 2 proof of purchase tabs that will be located on the back of your movie. So technically you could submit for BOTH rebates!

That gives you up to $25 off this movie. And since this movie will be between $22.97 and $24.99 at select retailers… that’s going to be a GREAT deal.

Plus here’s a great deal that you could go ahead and partially do at Target this week (since the Turkey and movie do not have to be purchased at the same time):

Get a $15 Target gift card when you buy any 10-24 lb Turkey AND either an Oster Roaster or a Buffet Server (both retail for $27 each)

Buy either the Roaster or the Server – $27
Buy a Butterball Turkey at 88c lb (let’s say it’s 12 pounds – $10.56)
Buy 4 Stove Top Stuffings — 79c ea
Use (2) $1/2 printable
Use (2) 50c/2 Target Stove Top printable
Use $4 off Butterball when you buy 4 Stove Top from 11/7 SS
Pay $33.72 and get $15 Gift Card Back
Total: $18.72

Target will have the Blu-Ray/DVD for $24.99. Once you use the above $10 coupon and submit for the $10 Turkey rebate you will of paid $23.71 for everything above!

(The above deal also works for A Christmas Carol if you would rather buy it. See that deal here.)

Plus don’t forget that when you purchase Santa Paws, you will qualify for the charm I told you about here. And it also qualifies you for the $59.99 Blu-Ray player I told you about here.

And don’t forget about the free Santa Paws activity kit I told you about here!

(Thanks Totally Target for the Turkey scenario!)
